'Moving' Building?

Came across this the other day while searching the net and thought it was very interesting...a skyscraper to be built in Dubai that rotates and will offer occupants 360 degree views which means a constantly changing skyline. (See Dubai Blog)
(Reuters) - This tower is no fixed asset. It rotates, and we're not just talking about the top floor, but all 80 floors. So residents and office workers can get a 360 degree view. This is an animation of a skyscraper that'll be built in Dubai and Moscow. Architect David Fisher unveiled the plans in New York. He says the building will produce its own electricity. Wind turbines are fitted into each floor. "I said, why don't we use the wind, why don't we use nature for our benefit instead of fighting nature, let's use the wind. The building's completely powered by wind, so it couldn't be more green than this," said Fisher. What's more, the building uses prefabricated parts made in Italy. So each floor, he says, can be built in seven days, saving costs. But residents will pay for their view: apartments in Dubai will be a pricey $3,000 a square foot. The first building is scheduled to open in Dubai in two years. Fisher says he hopes to build on in the skyscraper capital, New York. If he succeeds, it'll give the city that never sleeps a building that never rests. Charming, Just Charming!

84-Year Old Bride & My 600 Post!

The local news station was interviewing an 84 year old lady because she had just gotten married...for the 4th time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 84, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered.
"Interesting," the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years.
After a shot time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she first married a banker when she was in her early 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, later on a preacher when in her 60's, and now, in her 80's, a funeral director.
The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.
"Easy, son," she smiled.
"I married one for the money....two for the show....three to get ready....and four to go!!!!

Carl at Hooters!

My grandson, Carl, had a wonderful 18th birthday as you can see. His sister, Victoria and friend Jamie ,took him on a surprise trip to Pensacola and Panama City, FL. This picture was taken in Panama City on his birthday at Hooters where they specialize in chicken wings, cold beer, burgers, seafood, Hooters calendars and of course the famous Hooters Girls. Carl had a good time on the beach but the best part was at Hooters! This is a sweetthing!

Birth of a Hummingbird

This is truly amazing. Be sure to click on "NEXT PAGE" at the bottom of each page; there are 5 pages in all. A lady found a hummingbird nest and got pictures all the way from the egg to leaving the nest. Took 24 days from birth to flight. Because you'll probably never see this again in your lifetime, enjoy and share. The very last picture is amazing. Charming, Just Charming!

Dave's Trail Cam Pix

This is a first.....I got an owl on camera! Mean looking dude too!!

...and a deer licking her lips over C'Mere Deer. Still no fawns, but I know they are born because I've found their tracks...

Dave, who lives in Indiana, sent me trail cam pictures the other day and wanted to share them with you in our great outdoors.
He said, I suited up and retrieved five trail cameras that I had in various woods. The first one (above) is one I've been waiting for.....this doe finally turned so that I could easily see her udder filled out and tell that she has had her fawns and is nursing...

The next is what I believe to be a color phase red fox with a variant black tip tail... If so, it is very very uncommon... It's absolutely not a coyote, and the grey fox does not have the black legs... I'm still taking this picture under advisment but so far have not gotten any response from those more expert than I...

The other is a young buck just starting to develop his antlers (velvet phase) who looks to be startled by the camera...

I have some 300 pictures to go through and aprox. 40, ten to thirty-second video clips to edit... That will take hours upon hours and I probably won't publish them until sometime next week... Hope you enjoy...

A MS Country Girls Night Out

A friend of mine, a former policeman, sent me this picture the other day and wanted to share it with you. He said, “Well, here in Mississippi, we take good care of our children, young, or not so young. I was at a friend’s house the other night when the following conversation took place.

Daughter: “Hey Maw, I want to go out tonight.”

Mother: “Where are ya'll going ?”

Daughter: “To the cowboy bar on the edge of Port Gibson.”

Mother: “I really don't think you should sugar. There's been a lot of trouble at that place. I heard there was a fight there last weekend, and a mess o’ folks got hurt.

Daughter: “But mom!! Please!! It'll be okay.”

Mother: “No!! Y’all’s life is more important than going out!”

Daughter: “But Mama….PLEASE.… "Tina" is going with us... ??”

Mother: "Why didn’t you say so in the first place, girl? I reckon it’ll be okay. Y’all have fun!”

Amazing Holes

These holes are not only amazing, but some of them are really terrifying. The sheer scale of these holes reminds you of just how tiny you are.....

Sinkhole in Guatemala
These photos are of a sinkhole that occurred early this year in Guatemala. The hole swallowed a dozen homes and killed at least 3 people.
Diavik Mine, Canada
The mine is so huge and the area so remote that it has its own airport with a runway large enough to accommodate a Boeing 737. It looks equally cool when the surrounding water is frozen.

Mirny Diamond Mine, Serbia
I'm pretty sure most people have seen this one. It's an absolute beast and holds the title of largest open diamond mines in the world. At 525 meters deep, with a top diameter of 1200 meters, there's even a no-fly zone above the hole due to a few helicopters having been sucked in.

Great Blue Hole, Belize
This incredible geographical phenomenon known as a blue hole is situated 60 miles off the mainland of Belize . There are numerous blue holes around the world, but none as stunning as this one.
Bingham Canyon Mine, Utah
This is supposedly the largest man-made excavation on earth. Extraction began in 1863 and still continues today, the pit increasing in size constantly. In its current state the hole is ¾ miles deep and 2.5 miles wide.

Glory Hole - Monticello Dam, California
A glory hole is used when a dam is at full capacity and water needs to be drained from the reservoir. It's the largest in the world of this type of spillway, its size enabling it to consume 14,400 cubic feet of water every second.
Kimberley Big Hole - South Africa
Apparently the largest ever hand-dug excavation in the world, this 1097 meter deep mine yielded over 3 tons of diamonds before being closed in 1914. Charming, Just Charming!
